Got a hape of baled silage left over and silage prices are gone to **** . . . Would it be worth keeping for next year?

If you only put minimal wrap on them last summer, give it an extra wrap on each to keep better. Counting ours earlier & we'll have a month of bales to spare & will use them first this winter.

That depends on the quality how wet it was when bailed and so on sure it wont cost you anything to leave it in a corner some where until next year

Go through the bales and keep the best looking ones. Might not be easy to do if stacked etc. If you see any small pinholes etc, feed them now.

If it's good now, it'll be fairly good next winter. If it's poor now, it'll be dung next winter.

    I wouldnt get excited yet.

    Could all be wanted.

But if ya have it left dont stack this years in front of it and use it first next year.

Thread title misleading, I thought it was about spoiled silage left over in the feed passage. Surplus silage would've been a better title.

If i keep using the same amount until mid March, there'll be 32 good bales

Yeah, that a nice hape alright.
If you'd much more left it'd be a rake. If you'd even more it'd be a woeful hape.
And if you'd none you'd have naira bit left!

Mid march?? That's in ten days time, what county are you in. Always aim to have enough fodder to do from oct 1st to April 30th here:o

Around here the loads of silage don't appear on the roads til April. Your counting your chickens too early.
