Aiming for BTEA

So, BTEA is obviously an incredibly beneficial allowance to qualify for, you need the 234 signing days, but for the people who have had it awarded did you aim to get it and thereby avoid taking up work or seeking work? I can't imagine that everyone on it just happenned to get a full time course and their nine months of applying to jobs brought them no employment?

Its incredibly frustrating to really want BTEA come September but be bound to be 'genuinely looking for work' at the same time...opinions?
