    so i was just wondering what others thought about spreading risk in general but i think i could apply this to my own situation

    ive made some money since 2010 with my share investments but wonder if things are topping out , ive bought a commerical property unit lately and it will give me an income of 12 k per anum which is around 10% yield

    i used the proceeds from some of my share investments to buy this property but im wondering if i should cash in the rest of my shares and with the help of the bank ( assuming they were willing to go in with me ) buy another commerical property , i see pros and cons to such a move

    1. investing in shares allows you access to many different sectors of the global economy and in truth major multinationals should increase in value in the long term considerably more than a retail small business in ireland

    2. unfortunately the income from shares is not as strong as from commercial property unless you stick everything in something like vodafone which still only pays around 5% , a dividend specialist etf will usually pay no more than 3%

    so im trying to weigh up whether income or capital appreciation while also being concious of the fact that sticking everything in one small country may be a tad unambitious
