Im looking at flights transferring through Zurich with Swiss, and the best price is coming with a return leg transfer time of 1hr 5minutes.
    Is this a reasonable expectation?
Bear in mind I will be dragging 2 children (ages 6&8) behind me.....

We passed through Zurich recently and were impressed by the lack of hustle & bustle compared to other large airports. We didn't have to transfer so I can't comment on that aspect, but in my experience it was all very efficient and there was little sign of queueing anywhere.

It is a relatively large complex though, so there could be long enough walks with kids.

Thank you, I've decided not to risk it and will transit through Paris with a 4 hour window instead.

Transferring in Zurich is a royal pain.
For no logical reason, you need to get rescanned for security when passing through for a connecting flight. Pure idiotic.
Better still, if the buzzer goes off youre brought into a curtained cubicle and possibly stripped half naked.
Sorry, the Swiss are a quirky bunch and more power to them, but they won't be having my bare arse to potentially examine again in a hurry.

You did the right thing. Even on your own without the two (badly timed) feet draggers you would probably have missed your connection
