So I'm travelling with Aer Lingus in a couple of weeks and I'll just have my carry on bag with me. I just realised my clear toiletry bag that I bought is 15x23cm instead of 20x20. Anyone know if they're really strict on these dimensions?

You should be ok as long as the capacity isn't more than 1 litre. That's the security rule, not an airline rule.

For the last 2 years I have gone through security many times in many airports using a Tesco food bag for my meager toiletries. It much bigger than 20x20 and only once in all that time has it ever been commented on. That was in Dublin Airport when I was asked to put them in the official bag which the security guy handed me. Still using the food bag :)

If you're flying out of Dublin you can pick up a bag at security. I always take a couple.

Shouldn't be a issue unless you come across someone very strict. You will be able to pick up bags in the airport so just pick some up and at least you will have them to hand if you need to transfer.

As already advised, anything to do with security and liquids is an airport, not an airline issue so who you are flying with doesn't matter.

I use some SAS bags I picked up in Copenhagen airport which are much longer than they are wide, the security people don't care about the exact dimensions, it needs to be a one litre transparent bag. Whether it's square or rectangular doesn't matter.

passengers can bring liquids in containers of 100mls or less packed in a single transparent, re-sealable one litre plastic bag.
