Yeah I know it's like how long is a piece of string but has anyone found it to be in anyway accurate?

As accurate as accurate figure of fuel consumption you will provide in settings.

Its a rule of thumb in my book. Depending on so many factors, driving style, traffic, loading of the car, tyre pressures etc. The greater deviation occurring the longer the journey. For expenses, I'd always read from the car itself.
