Can relative working for Revenue Commissioners see family info?

    Hi,

    Wasn't sure which forum to post this in so Mods please move if incorrect.

    A relative recently got a part time role in Revenue working in the Collector General's Division. I'm not sure what exactly his responsibilities will be.

    Does anyone know if it's likely that he'll be able to access his extended family's revenue records, see what their income is etc? If so, is there any way they can prevent this?

    It's unlikely a part-time staff member would have full access to all systems but in either case they're bound by the Official Secrets and Data Protection Acts so they would be in breach of their contact / the law if they did access someone's personal information out of curiosity.
