    Hi everyone,

I recently got the letter of issue to allow me to apply for citizenship for a fee.

    A questions regarding this:

    1. How long do I have from when I receive the letter until I have to pay the fee? Something broke down and I had to pay another fee and I'm halfway to this fee, but will need a few more weeks saving in order to send the full 950 off. ( Don't want to take out a small loan )

I have looked EVERYWHERE for the time frame and can't find an answer anywhere even on boards and not on the letter either. Just wondering if anyone had an idea or can steer me towards the answer...

I tried ringing the office but it just rings out.
Thanks again for any help :-)

Thanks for that, do you mean after you submit the fees you're still waiting another 8 months (+) to be invited to the ceremony and given the certificate?

No, we have the letter but haven't paid the citizenship fee yet - €1900 is a bit of a hit

Bloody hell € 1900, how much has it cost to get that far ?

The application fee was €350/€175 each, but the rest was free as we used a peace commissioner.

I know others have used a solicitor at around €1200 per application, but I was confident I could follow the forms and there were two of us

    (So €950 x 2 = €1900)

If you have been living here on a visa, leave to remain or similar then it may become an issue if you want to leave / re-enter the country.

wow, I see what you're getting at with the fees. €1900 is a lot, but it's worth it in the end...You'll get there

I paid roughly or will pay €1200. Almost there!

You guys have been great help :-)
