    Did anyone see the article on the farming indepentant tuesday 24 feb on commonage eligibility and mountain areas in general have heard of places being cut up to 75 %. Is it a real problem
    has anyone being affected by this.

    Yes it's a real problem. Word on the grapevine is Dept were in NW Mayo lately haven't heard results though. Agricultural activity (lack of) or GAEC (compliance/non compliance) or both will be the issues. Senseless system given the history.

    are they taking spa's into account, which restricts agri activity from what i can make out. I am new to the farming thing and not up to speed yet but seems to be a big problem here

    That is the centre of the dispute, which is why the farmers concerned are taking the Dept to court as it is illegal under EU laws to deny farmers their standard SFP entitlements on the basis of land designated by EU directives and the measures/restrictions required under these designations.
