    Hello everyone,

I don't post often so I'm hoping I'm posting in the right place! I have the above mentioned freestanding cooker. It's only a couple of months old. Unfortunately I have lost the manual for it and cannot find a manual anywhere online. I mean come on, it's 2015 and they don't have the manuals online? Anyways, I seem to have put some key lock or child lock on it and I have no idea how to remove it so I can't use my oven. Does anyone have the same cooker or came across the same problem? Or can anyone help me rectify it?

    Many thanks!

Is there no help number online you could call?

    Hi Roselm!

Thanks for your reply. I literally found the manual for it today.

There are phone numbers online, but all in America. Very very strange that they don't even have a UK support phone number.

Bush in UK and Ireland is merely a brand name, used exclusively by Argos/Homebase.

It would help explain why you found it difficult to get a manual online.

For reference, there is a contact number for Bush (UK), found here:
    Bush (Television, DVD & Set Top Box Support) 0044 845 604 0105
    Bush (White Goods) 0044 845 543 0484

Along with loads of other formerly well known British makes of electrical and electronic goods that have long since gone out of business. The remains of these companies were bought up by various foreign companies and re-used merely as badges on low-cost low-end stuff.

All perfectly legal, but pretty dishonest IMO as many people that fondly remember those brands in their heyday will tend to be getting on in years, and not getting what they thought they were getting. Names like Bush, Alba, Ferguson, Wharfedale, Goodmans, Pye etc. are just badges now. Even Grundig is now just a badge for a Turkish company.

if the problem you have is with the oven not switching on it has probably gone into auto mode, I am not familiar with your brand but try pushing buttons 2 and 3 from left along with either + or - button, if it has gone into manual mode it usually displays a steaming pot symbol after this procedure, if you think it has a child lock symbol showing its normally a key symbol which usually means pushing some one of the buttons for 10 sec continuous but which one I wouldn't know, try them all, good luck.
