Really excited about the race, but our transport seems to have fallen through and now we're looking for ways to get there. Anybody have ideas? Buses to Carlingford seem pretty sparse. Or is…

I hope this isn't an inappropriate place to post this, but I'm planning run this next Saturday (along with my significant other). Really excited about the race, but our transport seems to have fallen through and now we're looking for ways to get there. Anybody have ideas? Buses to Carlingford seem pretty sparse.
Or is anybody driving up from Dublin and interested in car-sharing?

I'm running this again tomorrow. Forecast is for a windy one, with the opening uphill miles into the gale :eek: however, the other side of that is, you should have the wind behind you on the way home. I'm not expecting a PB or close to it, as I'm feeling a bit undercooked in relation to training. However, at this stage I still feel like going and giving it my best, rather than downsizing to the 10k or not going at all. Good luck to everyone taking part!!

AFAIK it's more or less the same this year. Start and finish at the Four Seasons; swing left out of the town and mostly uphill for 3 miles, downhill till you cross the main Dundalk road and fairly flat from there on with a few little humps here and there. You'll reach the seafront after 9ish miles and recross the main road with just over 2 to go.

Really enjoyed this race once again this year. The route is just fabulous. Surprised it doesnt get a bigger crowd or more interest.

I'll be back for a 3rd year next year

A lot of people complained about it being short last year. FWIW I reckon the changes that were made to the route, improved it as a race. I don't have a Garmin, so can't comment on the distance.
