Anyone here use Ping irons and have you changed the lie angle on them. If yes who did you get to do it?

I've heard a lot of club pros are slow to do it because Ping irons are cast and there is a danger of breakage

Ping are Investment Cast and heat treated to strengthen the metal, they can be quite hard to shift, senf them back to Ping they'll do them and re colour the Dot for you too.

Would it be ping in the UK to send them to?

Or have they a place in Ireland as well?

How do you know it's the lie that's wrong? Have you been to a fitting.

Do you have a set of pings already or you comparing them to a different brand.
You can't just say I'm 2deg flat many sets of irons differ with length and flex.

The lads at Celebridge driving range changed the lie on my s55's for me a few weeks back, only took 15 mins.

Having seen a documentary on Ping on the web I'm fairly sure adjusting the lie angle on their clubs just requires a loft/lie machine and a large rubber mallet.......not joking :D

Ping clubs are deigned to be adjusted

you are correct, im very lucky to of been to the Ping factory and workshop a couple of times, but those guys and ladies with the rubber mallets know how to use them, they also use a device that wont let you over bend, negating over working of the metal, personal opinion......get em back to Ping......

Ping irons can easily be adjusted. Brung them to someone with a loft and lie machine. Will take a short but of time, no need to send them back to Ping.

Sending them back to Ping means you could be without them for a couple of weeks, not necessary for a 15 minute job.

Ping clubs are designed to be adjusted by Ping only.
Foregolf are the only company as far as im aware that have the equipment to adjust ping irons safely.

Ping clubs can easily be adjusted with a Mitchell angle machine. Why can they only be adjusted by Ping?

    "Black art" springs to mind.

I got mine adjusted by Ping last year. Very pleased with the outcome. It took 2 to 3 Weeks and cost me 75E for a set including postage.
I think Ping charge 3 pounds Sterling a club and postage was 35 Euro there and back.
my local golf shop done it all for me as they said they send a few sets every couple of weeks. They also checked my loft and lie on the Trackman machine to make sure I got it right. I fell between two settings black and red and opted for red.

no one is saying they can only be adjusted by Ping, Ping staff know ping clubs better than any one. Personally, I am only recommending that this is the way to go.

€75 and no clubs for 2-3 weeks if done by Ping or go to a good repair shop and gave them done in 15-30 minutes for around €25.

I know which one I'd go for.

    I'm hearing ya man,
if price is your concern, go with that option,
I have sent back a few sets done by very respected Pro's,
and the lies have not been correct, now I'm only speaking of 4 sets in the last
15 years or so, the problem is is depends on who is doing the adjusting, and how the loft/lie unit is set up. ping use a Jig where they set the head in and essentially whack it into position, no over bending or over working of the steal, done to ping standards with care or like Gorfield said, drop em down to Foregolf
    again, just my opinion,

75€, no clubs for 2 weeks, but clubs done by the manufacturer perfectly.
or 25€ for a quick bending in the workshop which maybe perfect or maybe not.........I know which way I'd be going to.

The Mitchell loft and lie machine is common place in tour vans. Search for one of those and the operator will do a very precise job.

I'm sure any PGA Pro or qualified fitter will do a great job, My point is I can gaurantee Ping will do the job perfectly, and fill in the cloour code to the new lie angle.
I'm not saying you wrong, i'm just offering my opinion and experience of such matters.

I'll use the analogy of Doctors differ and Patients die. I paid a lot of money for my set of Ping clubs and despite being advised as to my fitting they never felt quite right. I spoke with a lad who advised that i get another fitting done and compare. As stated earlier I done this and was advised to get my clubs reset. I thought 75 euro for everything was quite cheap as golf is not a cheap game anyway. I also have the reassurance that having Ping do the reset that the Clubs are the same as if I bought a new set. I can honestly say that my game has improved by at least 6 to 10 Shots per round since I've got them done.
