    Congratulations Wailin. Wonderful shot.
Great shots too from all the HMs.

[PS Note to posters. Pics greater than 800px on longest side cannot be considered for POTW]

Is it just me or is this forum going a bit mental?

In fairness I think POTW has always had this stipulation ... And I think most are aware of this. And it is in the actual thread heading. Certainly I was made aware of it when I started doing the POTW last year.

so then why start saying it out loud now?

Also, do you actually check the picture dimensions?

I always mention it when people miss out on a potw or HM because of the size of the posted shot. Two people missed out this week.

Ps it's very easy to see when a pic is out of the sync with the run of shots in a page. Btw it's not my rule it's the forum rule. The mods have been very clear about this.

    seems crazy to me.

Hmmm, just noticed 11811's brilliant photo should have got POTW for this week but was disqualified for size:(
Can mods resize the photos or something, I have seen them do it before for other users, nothing you can do Myksyk I know.

To be fair the mods have posted this 800px rule in particular in HUGE typeface at the beginning of each Random Photos thread. Don't think it should be up to them to change the sizing. They have stipulated that they will delete all images breaking the rule but, as in this case, a couple are bound to go unnoticed. I'm not in a position to let posters know if they are in the running but have an outsized post up that they should re-size. That would be just too much hassle to be honest. I think its a case of the rules being very clear and it should be left up to posters to post in accordance with them. Just my tuppence ha'penny's worth.

there is a forum re-sizer script for vbulletin, but that's something for admin, not mods. and it isn't our job to resize pics, nor can we do it for members.
i didn't make the rule, i just have to abide by it myself, and enforce it, just like other mods.
