Questions about osteoporosis in younger people

I've been going out with my girlfriend (29, female, about 5'5) now about 3 or 4 months and things are going well.

However, she just got diagnosed with having osteoporosis (brittle bones). She'd been complaining a while of having sore pains and was prone to breaking bones earlier in life.

The doctors say they're going to do treatment to alleviate symptoms by injecting her with steroids into her back. Which sounds painful and will have her incapacitated for a bit. I dont know if this is going to be a repeated thing. Admittedly, my knowledge of this disease isnt great, and i cant find much information online that isnt targeted at elderly women instead. (anyone that can offer advice, please do)

I'm not sure how this will all affect the relationship too. Like even though we have only gone out a short while, im concerned of future problems. Like her not being able to go out or do anything fun if theres a risk she might break her hip or something. Will she be badly crippled and start shrinking when shes older? Like how badly can this affect her?

Does this disease affects chances of having kids (i know its only a short while, but im just thinking about the future) and if it doesnt then will our potential kids be affected?

She doesnt smoke, drink caffeine or much alcohol, and does keep active, so she mightnt be too bad, but again im not entirely sure how this diagnosis might affect her health. Like am i looking at her being completely incapacitated in a few years now?

Can anyone out there offer advice on what her diagnosis means for the future?

I was diagnosed with brittle bones at 20. I did all the specialists told me to and my bone density improved drastically. If she has children without sorting out the bone density, the child will cause problems. Foetuses are like leeches. They take all the nutrients they need regardless of what the mother needs. On a personal note, that you are looking at the future only having gone out a short time, suggests that maybe you are looking for an out. Good luck
