Where to by Solid Oak Furniture?

I'm looking to buy solid oak (light coloured) furniture. My list includes a dining table, six dining chairs, sideboard, console table, coffee table and long, low TV unit.

I like contemporary furniture such as that at BoConcept and S.O.U.L but I've also looked at the Rathwood website.

    I've a couple of questions.
    • It's not clear from the Rathwood website where the furniture showrooms are located...is there a showroom? Where is it?
    • Where else should I look for contemporary furniture?

Regarding Rathwood and other places, I need to see items in a showroom and not just online. I've been lucky so far with buying furniture online but equally I've viewed products online in the past and thought they were perfect but when I saw them in the showroom, realised they were not what I wanted.

Locations I'm willing to look in are anywhere on the M7/M8 between Dublin and Cork.

I've been to Minogues in Cashel and Larry O'Keeffes in Clonmel and while a lot of stuff was perfectly serviceable and functional, nothing in either store jumped out at me as giving a wow factor...

    http://www.skovby.com

Try and find your nearest stockist of Skovby. We bought from Colman Doyle's of Wexford but the range was also on display at the time (approx 2 years ago) in Meubles of Kilkenny.

We bought nearly everything that you are looking for in light oak. Expensive but solid and well built.

    Good luck with the search
