    evening all..

i have an o3 fiesta 1.4 tdci and was serviced about a month ago,,,,oil level was always just below max mark on dipstick...

yesterday i checked it and the oil was over the max mark.

    have 2 questions please,,,

what type of cars/engines leak fuel back into the sumps and what causes it to do that?

my mechanic is going to take some oil out on monday but if there was diesel in the oil how would i know?

    many thanks

    Roy

Have you always been reading the oil level under the same conditions as if you measure the oil level 2 or 3 mins after it's been running it will read lower than if you went out and checked it after the engine been left off for 12 or 18 hours.

Is the first time you've checked it since the service ?

am not exactly sure,,, 3 other cars in household, what would cause oil level to rise?

If it's the first time you've checked it since the service how do you know it's risen ? Maybe it was over filled at the service.
