Bit of advice needed. We have just bought a house that has a garage attached to the house. At the moment it has a garage door but its old and doesn't open from outside. We were quoted 1800 euro to replace that garage door with french doors. We are getting new windows in anyway.
Would it be much cheaper to install a new garage door and how secure are they?

Unless u are converting the garage, then french doors are a waste of money and not that secure.
You may also have a planning issue with french doors, depends on Local Authority.

before you decide, whats the access requirement?
Will it be used every day?
will you require access from outside?

Our main aim would be to make the house secure as possible. The French doors will have the same security features as our windows and back door. Are the newer garage doors more secure than the older versions. It's not ideal but we have to do something about it.
