I have recently been offered a job in east point. Does anyone know the commuting time if I leave Balbriggan about 7.40/7.45? Would I get there by 9 if I go by car?

it's often took me 30 mins to get from malahide road in artane to the clontarf end and that would be leaving at 8am and not much distance at all. That road can be a nightmare, assuming you'd be coming in that way. Can't say what the rest of the journey would be like. Would you not get the train?

Thanks, but I would be avoiding the Malahide Road and coming in over northside direction and then down Brookwood Avenue and onto Vernon ave. I have to drop 2 kids in to the creche and then I wouldnt get parking at the train station so the only option would be to drive...

Will you have a car space at Eastpoint - they are at a serious premium and you can't expect to get one if it isn't in your contract.

Train will typically take 1h10 from Balbriggan station to Eastpoint, including walking time. You would have to change to DART.

I live near brookwood. i use to take that route heading towards the east link. vernon avenue was much better, however you could be 20-30 mins on vernon avenue trying to turn onto the coast road. Its not as bad as the malahide road for sure.

If I were you I'd do a trial run some morning to test it out. It is better than going malahide road but Vernon avenue can be heavy with traffic. You could also look at taking castle avenue if Vernon is too busy. I found castle avenue better.

p.s. that's a good point regarding parking, you might have to get in much earlier than 9 if parking is first come first serve.

This isn't an ideal option, but if parking is an issue, you could drive to Harmonstown area or kilester and get the dart to east point. Actually it would probably be just as quick as trying to drive in! On street parking is free there.

Great thanks I will take this on board. I did not think that there would be an issue with parking so public transport may be indeed be the only option..I plan to do test drive next week.
