Proving that he is a true scientist his views have been changed by the (overwhelming) evidence that GMOs are in fact safe. It was always a bit strange that such a respected member of the pro science community thought that they were unsafe (He made improper use of the precautionary principle) but after spending time with scientists and presented with all the evidence he is apparently going to go back and revise his chapter on GMOs from his latest book.
