    Ladies and Gentlemen,

We need to get an electric shower installed in the house - the immersion is on every night and its eating our electricity!

The thing is, I would really like some recommendations as to where to go to for someone / a company who can supply and fit an electric shower.

Not looking to pay the earth obviously, however, need someone who will do a good job for a reasonable price!!

    Many thanks in advance

    Big Mig

Triton T90z is the best pumped electric shower on the market. You can expect to pay around 600 Euro supplied and fitted in Dublin by dedicated shower installation company. This would be for the 8.5'kw . You can expect to pay another 100 if you go for the 9.5kw.

€100 extra for the 9.5kw is excessive to say the least, shop around and that figure would be easily halved.

prices above are average for Dublin. The reason for the extra 100 for the 9.5kw is the shower costs 70 more than the 8.5kw version. Also the electrician has to use 10 mm cable for 9.5kw (though I recommend 10mm for all electric showers). He also has to use 50amp pull cord switch for 9.5kw (again I always recommend the 50amp pull cord for all showers) You can expect to pay even more again if it's a longer run, attic converted, walls need to be chased, tiling Tec.

Going to a dedicated shower installation company should guarantee you get someone who has trained with at least one of the shower manufacturer factories in shower installation and repair and has certs to prove this, a Registered electrical contractor and his work should be certed at the end and a qualified plumber. Obviously the shower installation company should have proof of insurance. Personally I'd stay away from anyone claiming to have installed showers for the ESB from years ago. 20 years on and we're still suffering from their mistakes.
