They're a bit of an oddball, they're not one thing or the other.

Are you looking at saloon or hatch?

    its a hatchback

    are they hard on petrol

    If it's a 2 wheel drive then it'd be ok (40mpg-ish)
A swift is a better car though. The sx4 is a bit cheap+nasty, and is odd looking.

Look out for the Fiat Sedici too, its the same car - you might get one cheaper.

Any link to the ad? It'd want to be cheap.

no link sorry its a friend of a friend

What are those Liana like 1.6 petrol.

    They're pretty nasty tbh.

That said, they're dependable. You could potentially just do so much better with something else.

    Its all relative.
    What is it replacing?

Didn't the SX-4 replace the Liana? The Liana is ancient at this stage.

Yes, it came out 14 years ago. It was outdated at launch.

    SX4 2800 euro with 115000 kilometres

Liana 2500 euro with 120,000 kilometres

The sx4 would be the better of the 2, but it would come down to condition etc as well.

If I wanted a cheap yet reliable small family car, I'd have a kia rio.

thanks I do a bit of farming which would be the best for pulling a trailor

The mother drives a diesel SX4, not sure what the petrol is like but the diesel is noisy, rough with a cheap interior that feels like a kids toy. On the other hand I really enjoy driving it, it's light and direct which makes it great fun to drive along country roads but above 100 kph it becomes an utter disaster with no power and huge noise. She loved it when she got it but after two years I think that she's getting the itch to change, however if it had only cost €2800 it could be a very different story.
