Is a landscape gardener required here?

    Hi all

We moved into a house last year and the garden was a bit of a mess. We managed to keep it trimmed, as it’s really just a lawn.

We’re looking to get something done with it this year. All we need really is for someone to come in a plough it up (or whatever the gardening term is!) and plant some grass seed, a few shrubs down along each side, and a bit of a patio area outside the back door and a path going down to the shed.

It’s a probably a simple enough job design-wise, so just wondering would we require the services of a landscape gardener when we’re not really utilizing all their skills but paying for them, or would a handy-man type person be able to to the job?

You could go with either but do a background check on them and see if customers are satisfied with the end result.

Stick with the landscaper. He has the skills the experience and most importantly the tools!!!!!
The handyman, well he's handy for a reason!

Go with a professional landscaper. He will do a decent job and if you're talking about "a few shrubs" and "a bit of patio" the landscaper should be able to show you a lot more options while the handy man might just do what you tell him whether it fits in or not.
