From the Indo this morning re Myra Manor
To the manor born at Myra
This house will make you feel at home in affluent Malahide, writes Mark Keenan....Malahide station and the DART line are 1.5km away. Myra Manor is on the 42 bus route into the city centre and Dublin airport is 12km away.

Its 3km from where thoses houses are to the centre of the village. The house is in Kinsealy. You could just as well say close to Tesco clare hall and Swords....mad..As for the bus route...hardly the top priority for anyone paying millions for a house..

Once you pass the last of the street lights heading out of town, (any town), you're out in the sticks.

I grew up in the countryside my husband grew up in a town, when were house hunting the first thing he said is...I am not going any where there are no street lights, so yeah I would go for the anywhere with no streetlights is the country side.

To the OP, what's the all important postal addressee as Malahide carries a hefty premium over Kinsley. Postal addresses trumps distance.

Am I missing something? The houses are 1.5km from Malahide DART station according to the link. The last time I checked that's almost in the village?

1.5km can be walked in about 15 minutes.

Edit - Google maps is saying just under 2.8km. Pesky estate agents.

There are street lights (and at least one foot path) all the way from Dublin to Malahide. :)

"It is just 1.5km from Malahide village " - I'm reckoning it is 3km door to door to the train station. https://www.google.ie/maps/dir/53.4333539,-6.1740167/53.4507594,-6.1562949/@53.441026,-6.1762218,14z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e2

Paying €1.7M for a house? Is the location of public transport links important to people who have that to spend?
