Fetac qualification without doing course?

    Does anyone know is there anywhere in the country where you can sit a fetac/qqi examination without attending a course? For example if someone felt that they had sufficient knowledge in bookkeeping manual and computerised to pass the exam for the level 5 fetac/qqi minor award could they just go ahead and sit it? I can't seem to find an answer online. The only "walk-in" exams I can find seem to be ECDL. Thank you.

    No, you cannot do this, same way you cannot turn up for university exams without having completed the prescribed course.

    Funny enough that you say that because the reason I asked was because I read about universities in the uk and usa that offer walk in exams :) there are books about it called the DIY degree. But you're right in that you can't do that in Ireland.

    yes you could register for the course online and just do the assignments.
