Semester One of first year you have 17/18 hours a week which drops to about 14 in S2. Most of the people doing Chinese this year seem to enjoy it and they're a tight knit bunch from it too. It helps that virtually anyone in their class does BCIT rather than arts or international languages so they get to know each other very well in business and language classes plus the cultural sort of stuff they have to do - like singing in Chinese at some concert in front of Michael D.
