    What constitutes automatic grade 3 or fail? Is clipping the kerb a grade 3?

    I don't think clipping the kerb is a grade 3, but mounting the kerb would most certainly be one

    Grade 3 fault:- Dangerous/Potentially Dangerous fault, or total disregard of traffic controls.

    Depends on the circumstances but most likely yes, you should never really hit a kerb - if you're driving along at say 50 km/h and you clip the kerb then yes, definitely a Grade 3 for dangerous in Position / Clearance

    I'd also imagine if it looked like you were going to mount the curb the tester would jump in and grab the wheel (especially if there's people about), anytime they need to jump in thats a fail.

    But the general description for a grade 3 is dangerous
