Something i have always had a fascination about..
Deeply ties in with Psychology and the unconscious...

Im looking for a book on induction and Hypnosis.
preferably by someone well known in research and such rather than stage hypnosis.

    Any Ideas?

the web is full of stuff of resourses alright but if anyone who is a well versed in this area can point me to something pure...

Do you mean why am I recommending it?

I regard Michael Yapko (American clinical psychologist and one of the top clinical hypnosis trainers in the world) to be an extremely knowledgeable, serious, and skilled practitioner, trainer, and writer. I have read many of his books, watched his training DVDs, listened to his training audio CDs, and watched his training webinars.

Trancework has probably been the top hypnosis book for decades now, and I think it's the best out of all the hypnosis and hypnotherapy books I've read - unless you're a mental health clinician who already has a background in hypnosis, and then perhaps it's the 2nd edition of the Handbook of Clinical Hypnosis:

Here is Yapko talking a little about Trancework, he has many videos online if you want to check him out:

Trancework by Yapko is EXCELLENT. One of my favourite books. I'm a clinical hypnotherapist and can assure you, that was a real good recommendation. Read it.
