I am involved in a Charitable Club with no employees that does not trade.
Our principal income is from Membership Fees and Donations.
We opened a Bank Account after 1 July 2014.
We received a letter from our Bank regarding classification of Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FACTA) of the US Government.
We have no relationship with the US.
We were set up as an 'Exempt Beneficial Owner', which the Bank tells me is incorrect.
They suggested that I speak with our Financial Advisor. We are a charity with little money, and have no intention of spending it on the Services of a Financial Advisor!
Having read the documentation, it would appear that we should have been set up as a Non-Financial Foreign Entity (NFFE). However, there are 2 types Active NFFE and Passive NFFE.
At which point I am stuck.
    Any assistance welcomed.

Write a 'formal complaint' looking for a 'final response letter' and send it into the complaints section of your bank, they obviously don't know that they are doing.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?
