The 122 goes from outside Penney's on O' Connell St.

(By the way you might be better off having a Mod move this to Dublin City forum or Commuting and Transport?) :)

Also get 38/a from same location.

    O'Connell st.

It runs along hospital on the right of front of hospital as you would come out.
It is on road to side of hospital and runs every 10 mins or so.

Are you aware its not a far walk?

If Dorset st then you can get a lot from there such as 11, 16 and so on

Hi If you have no problem walking I would walk it less than 10 mins would get you to the mater from o connell street
Its a straight walk all the way. Done it many a time. When you come out of the hospital if you dont feel like walking there is plenty of taxis parked outside.

OP - the list of buses that will take you there are:

From Westmoreland Street and Upper O'Connell Street - 46a and 122
From Pearse Street and Lower O'Connell Street - 38 and 38a
    From Parnell Street - 120
