Looking for alternative oil

hey there Have a 1.4 diesel Corolla. 2011 reg. usually get oil change done through dealer but just need a top up at the moment and looking for advice on what's best. Manual says toyota genuine engine oil or alternative. Can anyone recommend a good value good quality alternative? Thanks.

Just make sure you use the right grade of oil. ie. Fully synthetic 5w30 or semi synthetic 10w40. Your manual will tell you which one to use.

They take 5w30 oil but if your car has a dpf which it probably does you need to ensure that you get a dpf suitable oil. Castrol and mobil would be two of the main decent brands of oil.

Halfords or any of the auto factors will look up the correct oil for you. Don't chance any of the garage forecourt oils as you risk overloading the dpf with soot if it isn't low saps oil.

Premium synthetic 5W-30 C2 or C3dpf

or 0W-30 Premium Synthetic ACEA B5

Motor factor will stock these.
