    Hi All
Here are the symptoms and attempted remedies:
    1. unit wont charge
    2. when attempting to charge or start, I get flashing samsung logo and "no command screen"
    3. Tried Odin...but does not recognise unit. Not recognised as attached to USB.
    4. USB connection is defo working, as is battery....cos I got TechStar to check out ...they had no luck...they also tried new battery
    5. They say the board is "done for"....so Game over...they are probably right
    6. The unit is less than a yr old ..so I'm grabbing at straws

    Any suggestions

PS I uninstalled Samsung drivers from laptop, restarted laptop, and reinstalled drivers AND turned off virus checker as recommended when running Odin..just for clarity :D

you could try 'chimera' I think it's called. if the USB port is working like you say it would be able to flash the stock firmware and there's a possibility it would work. Sometimes the program doesn't work. One example is a note 2 a mate of mine had, it was the Korean version. He wanted to flash the stock European firmware but ended up with a brick! The phone is completely ruined now. I see no reason notbto try it seeing as it sounds like its already useless!
