US MNC salary recommendation for newly qualified ACCA

    Hi,

I'm currently working for a UK company in Dublin and recently got an offer from a well-recognised US multinational in Dublin to move as a GL accountant.

I was surprised at how low the salary was - even comparing to other multinationals it is quite low (at mid 30's). The position is for a recently qualified ACCA and the company did mention that the turnover period is around 18-24 months on average which is quite high I suppose.

It is a great career opportunity as I'll get some exposure in SOX, US GAAP and all the other accounting tools that come with the job but it also means working on bank holidays, crazy hours during month-end etc.

Is it worth getting into the co. for all the career benefits above despite the low salary? Or is it a general consensus in US MNC's that the GL roles sort of start at a lower rate?

During the 2nd interview, the manager told me that the salary recommendation is based on their corp structure and that if I want more money, there are other candidates who will take the job!

    Thanks a lot!
