    Hi

I recently started hearing my car make a "chirping" noise when i press the accellerator. It doesn't happen immediately when i start driving but after a couple of mins.
    I drive a 2011 Opel Astra 1.3cdti.

Anyone know what it could be? It sounds like a bird chirping haha. It doesnt do it when idling.

    Regards

Sounds stupid, but is it the pedal brackets and hinge? If you 'play' with the pedal with the engine off does it occur? Happened me before and the exact same noise you are describing.

Sounds like a belt slipping. Are you due a timing belt change? Some will start to chirp like that when they get close to being to be replaced. Have a noise under the bonnet and check the auxiliary and alternator belts.

I'll have a look. How much does a timing belt change usually cost? Labour included. When I'm driving and maintain a constant speed, it doesn't make a noise. Only when you press the accelerator.

Nope it's fine when the engine is off.

Is it not a chain on them? Sounds like your altenator belt thats chirping anyway.

    The belt for the alternator.
    Might need to be changed.
There is also a belt dressing you can buy from auto shop.

Might be a momentary misfire, or preignition.
