Anyone being in a mart or sent fed ewes to factory lately?....I know they were a great trade up to a month ago anyway....heard of one man getting 150 euro for well fed dry Suffolk ewes in factory.....makes you wonder if they are being sold as lamb when cut up!
Have 4/5 dry ewes I will show when possible before lambing starts...just wondering what trades like for reasonably well fed lowland ewes?

Makes a pleasant change from down through the years being lucky to get €40-€50 for them.

Top price heavy ewe sold in Carrigallen on Monday night, last week. Butcher bought her for €160!

Is there a Muslim festival or what's driving the price?

Every bit of it is needed though. I don't think we are going to see many sheep farmers cruising the algarve in their new yachts!
