Car for 6k

Hi all -

I'm looking to replace my dearly beloved zero frills 96 Corolla. My budget is ideally 6K, 7k at a push. I'm looking for a car that is economical for city driving, but is comfortable for the longer spins home at the weekend, (4 hours each way). Has to be 5dr, fairly nippy, and a few bells and whistles would be great, seeing as the only 'spec' my Corolla had was a cup-holder.

I'm looking mostly at 1.4 higher spec Corollas, such as

I'm finding it hard to look past Toyota, but are there any other cars I should consider? Thanks in advance.

Those Corollas are really a good car. The Luna spec is decent enough too. The second one is a UK spec car so you would want to be verifying the low mileage via service history and a UK history check.

Thanks for replying - part of me thinks I'm being v unimaginative but tbh the most important feature of any car for me is that it's reliable. Can't beat Toyota in my experience really.
