Montenegro - first visit

    Hi all,

    We are planning a trip to Montenegro for our summer holiday. Currently thinking of spending a week and a half in or around Budva, and since the best airport option from Dublin seems to be Dubrovnik, around three nights in Dubrovnik as well.

    Looking for general tips and advice from people who have visited - particularly keen to find out more about airport to Budva transfer options, which seem a bit limited.

    was in montengro a few years back but only on for a day and we only got as far as kotor. we were based in dubrovnik and rented a car at the airport and the drive was pretty straightforward. no idea about transfers but i think that there is some info on tripadvisor about that but the car rental was pretty reasonable. the bay of kotor was amazing and well worth seeing and the town of kotor has a lovely old section.
    if you do go down the rental route i would not get the car while staying in dubrovnik as it is very narrow to drive in places!!
