Anyone know if there's a way to post frozen foods from America to Ireland?

One of my favourite childhood foods is no longer here but is still sold in America and a friend of mine over there has agreed to send some over if I can figure out a way. Thoughts?!

This be doable from the UK with the help of Icepacks, but wouldn't fancy my chances trying it from the USA.

I would say that it is going to be very unlikely that you will be able to do this as someelse said it would be difficiut from the UK but from the USA it could be near impossible when you take into account the package having to go through customs etc.

Also you would need to take into account regulations regarding importing food stuff (if any) into Ireland.

Can I ask what the food stuff is, maybe some one in the Food Forum could advise you where to get it nearer to home.

It's very much possible to ship frozen goods. You need a container filled with dry ice to keep it cool though and the shipping from the US will be astronomical (~€150!) as you'd have to use a next day service

    It's not.
In work we get stuff on dry ice from the States regularly. It's classed as hazardous goods and can be transported as long as you don't excceed a set amount of dry ice. However it is seriously expensive and you wouldn't really be able to ship the food wanted in any worthwhile quantities.

Can you point to any law?

I know someone working with pharmaceuticals who send stuff with dry ice.

It is likely to cost a fortune. What is the actual food you wanted to get, it could well be available here. Or people might know of a similar alternative.
