Been thinking about upgrading the brakes on the single speed hack for a while largely because the cheap big block shoes/pads on the current set don't work when it's cold or wet.

Now that the cable and spring are seizing I'm thinking it's time to get a new set of better quality cantis or maybe even a set of V-brakes if I can fit them, to let me fit some more reliable pads (cables are fcked from living outside).

also looking for a set of simple alu brake levers as the Raleigh factory plastic originals are getting soft.

Budget around €50 max - in the vicinity of Dublin City Centre (work in Ballsbridge during the day).

Have tried googling Raleigh Amazon/.refurbishment etc without much success, so I'll probably have to strip the brakes off to figure what'll be compatible.

I've got some take off tektro levers and a choice of either v-brake or canti.
The v brake are shimano acera (I think, need to dig them out) and lightly used, switched that bike to disks. The canti are MTB retro metalic green, these are new and come with the center pull cables but from using a set on a previous bike the pads to me seem too hard to be much use in the wet (too honest)
I can do either for €35 posted. I'll dig out some photo's if you're any way interested.
