Hope I do the charter thing right, as I'm a first time poster.

If one wanted to buy a mushroom growing kit, specifically for growing and not for selling/distributing/eating, or spores is this legal? Would it be stopped at customs?

Any bills etc you could link me to that show me anything to do with the laws surrounding them would be great.

    Thanks!

The grow kit is not illegal. Neither are the spores actually.

Psilocybin mushrooms are illegal since 2006 though, both possession and cultivation, so careful now.

They also grow naturally in Ireland so it's odd altogether.

    See here. http://touch.boards.ie/thread/2057221852/1/#post90651430

Psilocybin and psilocin are controlled substances. There is an exception for mushrooms growing uncultivated.

According to Wikipedia, the spores of psilocybin mushrooms do not contain psilocybin or psilocin. If it is true that the spores do not contain these substances, then it appears that they should be not be illegal.
