Suit colours / colour scheme

    Hi,

I am getting married in the summer. I was planning on either grey or blue suits for myself and the groomsman but someone asked me recently what the colour scheme is going to be. I don't really know what they meant but am guessing they meant the suits should stick to the same colour scheme as the dresses.

    Is that right?

Anyway, any suit colour recommendations? The bridesmaids will be wearing blue. I think they can wear any shade of blue. One of them is a darkish blue.

    Thanks!

There is a lot to be said for sticking to the colour scheme.. Even if it is just maybe matching colours... I would say go blue especially for a summer wedding grey is so boring

They could have been wondering about what colour ties or whatever you or the groomsmen were going to wear?

I really haven't come across the groom or groomsmen having to wear a particular colour except for whatever the groom chooses.

As long as it's not pink with orange or a crazy clash it's ok to both have what you want

The colour scheme, broadly speaking, refers to the colour the bridesmaids are wearing. Groomsmen traditional wear ties and maybe pocket squares the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses. The suit colour itself doesn't matter much.

I've always been a fan of a navy suit, but we're having grey at ours, it's a lovely pencil grey and suits all of the lads. Grey doesn't have to be dull or boring, with a lovely crisp white shirt and a nice baby blue tie it can be very summery!

We had grey suits at ours and it wasn't dull at all. Hubby was in charcoal and groomsmen in light grey. Hubby had a silver tie to tie in with BM shoes, groomsmen had ties to match girls dresses. Bright buttonholes and white shirts. Have to say, Hubby's suit wasn't wedding-y as he didn't want that and he looked smoking hot!! Nice tan shoes completed it.
I was pushing for navy suit for him but he felt like he was wearing a school uniform. He was also doing a lot of work for photographers at the time, majority of men were in navy and a lot of them didn't photograph very nicely.
