TIMBER IN OIL TANK

Hey folks. I did something a bit silly earlier today. I was dipping the oil level in my oil tank earlier and as I was removing the piece of timber it got stuck on the edge and I dropped it into d tank. I can see it sitting on the floor of the oil tank now. My question is will the piece of timber about 3 foot long do any harm to my tank or oil. I know it won't do any harm short term. And any ideas how to get it out would help... Thanks red faced here lol

Oh dear! Could happen to anybody - anybody, that is, who did who did not use a piece of timber sufficiently long to avoid it happening in the first place!

I don't see any problems arising from the situation. i think that you can safely forget about it.

make a retrieval tool - get a length of pipe and put a loop of wire through it

I have seen them there for years. They seem well preserved if anything. Don't worry about it.

Sounds like you've already done enough.

Maybe next time you could use yourself as a measuring tool.

    To get out:

First you pull your legs out with your arms, then you pull your arms out with your face.
