Questions about buying a vehicle with no tax/Doe. (its a van)

If you buy a vehicle with no tax on it, lets say it was 2 months up when you bought it, are you liable for the tax from the last time it was paid or just from the time the logbook went back?

And same for the DOE, is the DOe when you get it only from the time the DOE was due no matter how long it is before you get it done? (what if it was a year out)?

If you were buying a van with no DOE, whats the done thing regarding putting it though the DOE, owner is selling it as is, do you ask for it to be put through and pay for it and if fails either bow out or re-negotiate the price or is there a" done thing " there?

You tax it for the month in which you bought the van. As of now, if you could wait till next week to purchase, you will pay arrears back to 1st March only.

The rules have changed for the DOE. All DOE certs are now dated from the vehicles first test. So if your van's DOE cert is out for 2 months, you will get a cert for only 10 months the first time you test it.
