    Well folks,
Djing live for the first time at a friends birthday. She like techno/house and I'm really out of touch with that genre. Any of you suggest any big tunes that would go down well at a party? cheers.

There's so many sub genres within techno and house that you'd want to be narrowing it down a bit. Piano house, minimal techno, funky house, deep house, industrial techno (you can see where I'm going here).
What do you have in your collection that might be suitable?

If they like their mainstream artists, then your best bet is Deadmua5, Duke Dumont, Wolfgang gartner, disclosure etc....

DJing live with tunes you are out of touch with is a not a good idea, so pick your tunes and immerse yourself in them in the build up to the party, know them inside out and upside down and most of all best of luck :D

You could play it safe and do something like go and listen to a few recent dj sets/mixes by the likes of Ben Klock who is a master when it comes to crowd pleasing and not too challenging techno. Then work down through the set lists and pick out tracks that you like and buy them.

    For example: https://soundcloud.com/factmag/fact-mix-470-ben-klock-nov-14

House and techno shouldn't be too tricky anyways as your tempo changes will be minimal, just organise all your key changes and wing it haha
