What in your opinion is the best restaurant with a view in Dublin city? Ideally Dublin 2, and price isn't much of an issue. Looking for around December time.

Sophie's in The Dean hotel has a view of the city.
The Marker Hotel rooftop bar has views of the city.

Cill Arne (spelling?) - the boat on the Liffey.
Would be lovely on a clear summers day, with a view back into the city or out to the bay.

winding stair is pretty nice, big windows overlooking hapenny bridge etc

For a view, Sophie's at the Dean is hard to beat.

I wouldn't bother with the Marker as they have very little indoor space and December would be too variable.

Alternatively, organise catering and hire the Guinness Storehouse Gravity bar

I'd second the winding stairs, lovely views out over the Ha'penny Bridge and River Liffey through large open windows and it has lots of character and lovely food. If you headed into Howth you will find wonderful views over the sea.

The Pig's Ear and Thornton's both have nice views, over College Park and St Stephen's Green respectively.

Thanks for the replies folks. Winding Stairs is the one I'm leaning towards at the minute - looks to have the best standard food as well.

Anyone eaten in the Cliff House on St Stephen's Green? Seems like an option also.

was in there one evening last summer and the view from the inside is cool, it might be an idea to try see if u could book a table near the window in advance tho

The Boat on the Liffey, beside the Convention Centre has great views. Bog-standard pub grub.

Yes, it's very nice. The view from the 1st floor bar out over the Green is wonderful
