Sorry for the stupid question. I got a puncture this morning, does anyone know of a bike company that will come to my work and replace the tubing? I'm in the Ballsbridge area.

Fair dues to you for cycling this morning! But seriously, if you intend to cycle around Dublin regularly (particularly if you're using the Rock Road to get to Ballsbridge) you really need to learn how to replace a tube .... it will happen again!!

I only cycle in from Blackrock, but yes, I've only myself to blame. I should know at this stage.

I also work in Ballsbridge and use that route most days for my commute. The road surface between Blackrock and Ballsbridge is in terrible condition particularly going home so, as I say, more punctures are almost inevitable!

I know that section of the road well & the fact you've ( i assume) only 1 is a miracle.

It looks like a staple did the damage. I'm nearly 100% I saw it sticking out this morning. But it was pitch dark and lashing, so I just hoped on.

I've been cycling the same stretch for over two years, so maybe my luck ran out. I normally check my tyres at the weekend when I'm cleaning. Drink won the battle, so never got a chance.

How long should it take a novice to change a tube over?

Have you a spate tube? If so it should take less than 5 minutes.
Where abouts are you in ballsbridge ?There's a bike shop down by juniors and one through Herbert park called donnybrook bikes

I havent done it myself yet as I dont commute to work(not till it gets brighter) but practice it at home a few times & if you can get a pair of gloves similar to those used by deli staff & put them with your PRK to try & keep your hands from getting manky which will prevent the handlebar tapes getting ruined.

Get Gatorskins, Im 2 years cycling on crap roads/glass around Bray with no puncture now, not a single one, nearly gave up cycling in despair a couple of years back, I used to be cringing when approaching the bike every day expecting yet another flat but made a thread here about it and someone recommended them and I never looked back, first thing Ill be buying for my new bike in a couple of days.
