Am I missing something here? Just bought these 2 for a current new build, and when I turn them(either clock or anti clock) they don't open or close. Do they have to be fitted with tension on the shifter cables to open and close, or maybe they are just faulty. I have used Sram ones in the past ane they worked fine on or off the bike.:o:o:eek::eek: Help!!!!!!

Was in same boat. They need to be under tension to work.

I was hoping that might be the case, but can't see the logic in how that works with, but not without tension. Thanks for the heads up, cos otherwise I would have returned them to be replaced with new ones with the same issue.

I'm actually wrong when I say it needs to be under tension. Need to replace a cable here and just inserted an outer cable I both ends. Twist the barrel and you'll see how it works.

How right you are. Have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I read your last post. Seems I was wrong. Thanks you've been a great help and probably saved my sanity.:D:D:D
