    He's a former officer in one of the two police forces in Ireland. So what's the problem with calling him an Irish ex - cop? Why do some people in the 26 counties seem to have such an enormous problem with the idea that people in the north are Irish?

    I think the fact that the man in question was an ex member of the RUC would imply that he himself would prob detest the idea of him being described as anything other than British.

    I say that as a nationalist from the north btw.
