Not contempt with one silly diesel project, here's another one. Help me!!!

The car: For me to know and you's not to find out.... Till the end

The engine: a 1.9TD from a Citroen Dispatch. Rare enough van!

I'm going to get this one done as fast as possible, as I need the bloody car... Aim is a few weeks here. I'll prob end up eating my own trousers saying that...!

Tis unusual compared what I'm used to. First, the turbo is mounted arseways (compressor housing facing the gearbox, downpipe in a hula hoop) it has a push clutch and unusual selectors compared to what is the norm for me. More importantly, it's a non ecu boyo :D

The engine (and box) on a pallet

First job: pump off. Standard procedure, usual tight unions. Wasn't too hard either way.

Here it is beside a semi ecu pump. Spot the difference...?

However those pumps are nothing compared to what's going into the C220....

....but that's for the other thread ;)

    Tamperproofing everywhere! Not anymore

Before long, down to the nitty gritty. I opted for a 10mm head this time, not like the 11mm in the 406. Less hydraulic force but with the benefit of more fuelling over the 9mm head (circa 20% extra fuel delivery)

It's not very noticeable compared to the 11mm head

Decided this time to play with the cam discs (very naughty!!!). Forgetting the DI camdiscs as the profile was far too aggressive, I opted for a 2.8D disc as it has a similar profile but much more gentle than the TD disc. Worst comes to worst if driveability is affected too much I can revert back to the TD disc. Don't put them in 180 degrees out though...

With that end sorted, time to modify the govenor a small bit. Top off...

The finished article is on the left, if I'm not happy I can shim it some more. On the right is a very aggressive one from a red 406.... ;)

All back together the last job is the LDA. Cut down to my spec

So there you have it for now. Hopefully the turbo next week... It's an interesting turbo ;) I can't wait to get it all up and running, it will be an interesting result...!

Nope.... But I half killed the car's engine this evening, now with lovely death rattle and boiling like mad! Enjoyed every second of it :D

Sure you'll see at the end :)

Been fiddling with the turbo a bit, needs clocked properly. Housings off!

Not happy with the lateral movement, new bearing kit on the cards

    Cleaning the surface of carbon
