    Hi fellow Brides

I am planning on doing my own sweet table/candy buffet. I am just looking for advice or tips on the best place to buy all the items i need or am interested to hear what other brides did for their weddings.

    Thanks in advance

IKEA do all different types of jars/bowls and Musgraves (you need a card) for the sweets.

Thanks for that, i have a friend that owns a pub so he would be able to get me stuff with his card but i hear from some people that the cash and carry is not as good value as it used to be. I am not sure if it is true. It seems the easiest option though.

That might be the case but they have a great selection all in one place. It cost us around €100 and we got a good amount of stuff for that. I know some people got bits here and there from various supermarkets but I personally found it handier to get the stuff all in one place. Used some Kilner jars from musgraves and a few large bowls and smaller screw top jars from ikea as well as little baskets. There was another thread on this not so long ago might be worth a look.

The cash and carrys aren't the worst price for them... You could chance you arm though and ask one of the sweet shops like the old time ones would they cut you a deal. Or keep on eye on Grabone or Groupon sometimes they do offers or sweet packages..

There are loads and loads of jars and things like that for sale on adverts, done deal etc. Where are you based there was someone on Cork wedding page who had some jars me thinks for sale too..

We got our jars between deals and a 2 euro store.(1.49/2euro each)

We got the tongs for 2 euro each in Allens

We filled the jars with sweets from aldi/lidl(35 euro)

A friend made 2 fererro Roche trees, the hotel assembled the table for us.

It added up to just under 100 euro, the fererro riches were bought on offer.

Picking things up bit by bit over the last few weeks leading up is no bother, and my wedding was at Christmas and I work retail but found it fine.

If you are limerick based you can have all my jars/tongs etc. there's a bunch of tea light holders as well, that we're given me but rather than return them I was told to pay it forward.

Great value there. You'd have to mix the sweets in the jars to fill them though. Not a big deal just you'd want to make sure you could display it all in such a way it didn't look 'bitty'. Or just buy two ðŸ˜႒
