If I install a smart home for a client and it uses its own alarm system is this legal if I'm not registered with PSA? It would also have an intercom system with an integrated camera that would send the picture to an app on the phone.

As this wouldn't be a recognised alarm system does that make it ok for a non-psa registered electrical contractor to install or what are the rules on this does anyone know?

Sounds like you are skirting the rules. Ring the PSA if you are in any doubt.
    They will happily clarify.

Access control is also covered under the PSA now.
A phone call to them would be the best advise.
